Where is the Waterline?

Does anyone have a boat in the water for the measurements of waterline at the bow and stern?

Wanting to complete anti foul and was going to guess. Thought I would ask.

crappy photo, but here is the way my boat sits with no one aboard. Even under sail the bow is out of the water for the first 18 inches or so.

Bow out is no good upwind. I put my battery forward along with the anchor and whatever else has some weight. She now sits without crew, bow about a inch down and the stern level. Shifting crew weight forward would do the same, for those lucky enough to have crew

Even if the bow sits out you would want to antifoul the bottom all the way forward, because it will stay wet due to normal wave action on a mooring or in a slip. My (departed) Soling used to be antifouled because I had to keep it afloat and the long counter always needed scrubbing to keep it clear, even though it was above the boot top. It would be sensible to run the waterline from about 1 inch above the bow knuckle to about the same height or less above the bottom aft for an i550 kept afloat.

Thanks all, will shoot the line in the next few days. Sounds like an inch plus for and aft will for us as she will live on a morning.

I keep the boat in all season. Here on a shot of last year's bottom paint touch up. Blue masking tape still attached. Probably 1.5 inches up bow and stern.
