Deck Layout

Postby r2heisch » Sat Jun 20, 2020 7:17 pm

I have been idle for about a year now on my build, primarily because I am afraid to deck the back half and lose access. I need to deck the boat, HOWEVER I am not a seasoned sailor and much of the hardware is still a bit foreign to me. I have come to the point that I need to finish and hope to splash by this time next summer.

Does anybody have a tried and true deck layout featuring a bridle system that I could steal? If I could get even a rough sketch with approximate locations for everything (short cabin version) I think that I could get going again. THANKS!

Look at Chad's build blog. He offers good layouts, albeit complex. But the basic stuff is all the same.

Where three photos of how some bridle systems and deck layout. Shazza(?) Has a over head picture showing his seating and layout. Will try to locate it and post it if possible.

I did this simple layout for the guy that was building fiberglass boats. He had a rep for Ronstan he liked, so most hardware is that brand, with some Harken parts too.

I just used the Harken diagram for the Melges 20.
