So how about Brookville Lake over Memorial weekend? BLSA will let us tie up to their docks and we can do our own thing, or we can go the weekend of the 17th and join their Saturday races and cookout.

Camping is just down the road from the marina, and I make a mean (that's good) camper's breakfast. Last year Phil brought some of his home-brew creations, and I'm sure the bait shop still sells room-temp cans of something-lite in case that doesn't work out...

Whaddaya say?

I could make Sunday and Monday of Memorial Day weekend. The Weekend of the 17th might be OK.

I see up-thread that Kevin only had Memorial weekend available. I've emailed him to see if this is still the case.
Anybody else interested?

Heard from Kevin, and he can't do the 17-18, but Memorial weekend is good.

I'll just book a campsite (not much left available), and let's see if we can cram a bunch of i550-ists onto it!

Who want's to come out and crew? I'll be traveling solo and would welcome another set of hands.

Cheers, Kevin.

I would like to come out and sail on other i550's,,, maybe within a 1000 mile radius of Colorado????. I think it is time to load up the camp gear on the old trusty BMW GS and go for a ride (I have been known to ride 1000 mile days,,, but have to admit my back doesn't like it like it used to).... So,,, are there any regattas between us??? maybe something around Chad, we could get a few i550's to????

I can make the weekend of the 17th, and not Memorial Day (previous commitment). Since this is only a few weekends away, it may be too short notice. Is it too early to talk about Labor Day regatta?

Not to hijack the thread, but I will also make a plug for the Everglades Challenge. #129 didn’t make it to the finish in EC14, but we will back at the start line again for EC15. Our modifications were probably un-necessary, and I expect doing the race with the standard bulb keel configuration, buoy racing set-up might even be faster than the fin keel. Either way, it is a great excuse to shake off the winter doldrums and drive to Florida for a few days of cruising, camping, and racing. Any takers?

Which Labor Day regatta? If there's another i550 going, and I can get there in a day (even a looong day!), I'll go.

Well Memorial at Brookville didn't happen due to "life stuff" getting in the way for one of us.

Can we start getting a count for Put in Bay, Aug 1-3? We'll need 5 to get an OD start.
Me, Kevin, Phil, James (?), TimF (?), Kirwan (?), the Googe boat (?), any others? Entries are open now, let's figure out if we can get the numbers!

...hmmm,,look at that!...Grand Junction***,Colo---Hood River,,,986 Miles!
.....are you interested in a (suicide mission) run or two down the gorge and/or fleet racing at Yale Lake if/when sanity prevails?
...I'm still to line up a crew for the gorge (madness) nice 6hr sail,,,or the fleet-race otherwise.--I'd be hoping for a crew >180lbs for the gorge sailing,,with good touch for the helm

...overall,,it's likely I'll have a few good runs down the Gorge during the week,,then join the fleet at yale lake. (aug 9/10)

...***,,yer didn't mention -where- in Colo!! :D

I am between Denver and Colorado Springs. I will have to check the dates it may be tough for me to get away right now due to starting a new home for a customer. I am just crazy enough to actually have a little interest in the Gorge run. I will give it some thought.

This looks like a fun event, fun Tim K says Mist will not be ready. It's an annual event, and I bet Jerry Latell of Ullman sails (one of the co-sponsors) would love for us to show up, so east coast boats keep this in mind for 2015!

I'm going to be doing most of Jacomo's races for the rest of the year, just SE of KC. They're a pretty low key group, and I'll be racing against C-scows and a Star or two, mainly. They don't hold any multiple-day events, just Sunday afternoon stuff generally.

If you hear of an interesting race "in our area", holler and I'll try to make it happen.
