Delta Ditch Slog....

Postby bendoo » Mon Jun 06, 2011 6:36 am

forecast for rain and light wind was amazingly accurate.....pulled the plug at 3 in the afternoon in Vallejo, not quite 1/2 way home.....most boats were in the same shape......BUT...
Even in the light (varied 8-10, nothing, 10-15, then nothing again), and even pointing as well as reaching and running, we hung STRONG w/ the only Open 5.7, traded tacks w/ an express 27 and santa cruz 27 for hours.....for alot of miles.....
actually outpaced the open 5.7 in the same wind downwind.....bigger chute and less weight trumped waterline.
the i550 ROCKS boys!
Can't wait for summer to actually arrive........

Thanks for the update Ben, sounds like if you ever get some wind for a race you're gonna kick some ass!
