Thinking about all you guys on the east coast & hoping Irene doesn't turn into "I-Ream."
Stay safe.

I think my fortune has changed since yesterday. I was really concerned when the track was predicting the eye to my west. This morning it moved significantly to the east of me and the storm is weakening. Like they say I'd rather be lucky then good.

An observation, why don't folks take their roller furlerling sails down during a storm? I'm certain I'll soon have a few photos of people who've made that mistake.

It's usually the same people you only see at the marina once or twice a year!

They may also be the ones hoping she sinks, so they can call the insurance company. See them soon on salvagedirect.com.

Inland South Carolina just got the outer bands with some great wind, no rain. Went sailing on an Impulse 26 yesterday and had fun. From the radar Matt just 80 miles east got very wet. Good luck Tim. My Irene takes a hard right turn for you.

Here's the damage to Hull 87....pretty hideous, but I will REBUILD!
However, I will not be using any power tools in the near future: no electricity and they say it could be days. I was this close [ ] to hooking up a power sander yesterday to continue with fairing when I remembered it had been 18 hours since we had the luxury of house current....sheesh.

By all means! I don't begrudge anyone for taking advantage of the breeze, although some people were better at it than others:
