Further Promoting of the i550

Postby Tim Ford » Sun Jan 10, 2016 6:10 pm

If any of you are on Facebook, checkout this group:

and without trying to sound like a commercial, maybe join and post a shot of your i550? I did this about a month ago (Decemebr 15) and some folks were interested in the boat.

Also, don't forget that Geoff at Velocity Boatworks is getting close to completing the production boats at a price point that is amazing. I've already given the sales info to a club down here that might be interested in acquiring a few boats.

And the Seascape 18 just won BOTY for Sailing World's "Best Recreational Racer." I'd rather race other i550s, but this would be a nice addition to any local weeknight fleet AFAIC.

There seems to be little interest lately on this site. Has the i550 become just another boat?

Seemingly. But that doesn't make it less fun to sail!

On the contrary, I'm quite busy with the i550.
Last Saturday saw myself tacking 7 times within a 20-meter space, in 0-1 knot wind, against 2-knot current...
Did not even make it across the starting line within 10 minutes grace.
I finished my fruits, drinks, and patience, and motored back to the moorings.
The wind condition in my area at this time of the year is quite patchy, as we switch from Southwest to Northeast monsoon.

Is there some kind of wind-finder goggles I can buy off eBay or Amazon?
The other heavier J24s skippers seem to be able to "see" the elusive patches of wind to ride on.....

Hi,
I took the liberty to send i550 info to
editor@sail1design.com
They said that they may do a article on the i550.

Nice! Way to go, Noemar! I hope they do something with it.

I also hope I can get down to mine this weekend and check it for water and other abusive substances.

Can we get the i550 group to contact editor@ sail1design.com in an effort to promote one helluva boat. I have tried twice and received one response. Perhaps we need to flood them with requests in order to promote this group and boat
