Trial sail near Sydney

Postby gwidders » Mon Jan 22, 2018 10:56 pm

Hi all,

I've bought a set of plans and started some planning and costing for my i550 build... Plenty to think about before I jump into the build no matter how much I want too....

I'm just wondering if anyone 'near' Sydney has an i550 and is keen for a sail? i'm interested in getting out on one and have a look at the setup and sizes. Willing to travel as far north as Newcastle/ nelson bay... or down to Canberra (I think there's a few built there?)
Happy to crew as part of a race or just cruise around.

I've been racing with family the last few seasons, and cruising the last 20 odd years so I'm confident around yachts.

Appreciate any help putting me in touch with someone!

Cheers,
Greg

Hi Greg, here's a screen capture of the Map...not sure how well it has been updated. Baby Faced Assasin was up at Salamander Bay, but I think it was sold. Gordo built TONKA down outside of Canberra in Sutton. So a 2 hour drive either way. Not sure if TONKA got sold or where it is kept/sailed.

You might want to contact Tim Reiter directly (i550Watershed@yahoo.com ) I'm sure he can give you more details.

600+ miles to the south, it looks like the boats are doing well in Kettering, Tas.!
