While at Charleston YC for the 2018 J24 NAs I noticed Slightly Barbaric in the boat park. My first complete i550 in the flesh .... Any history? It is probably an early boat, given the narrow cockpit.

That boat has in quite a few places in the U.S.A., as I think Paul has moved it from station to station, don't know if he still owns it.

History: This boat has seen much of the US. Started in Texas, moved to Charleston, SC where she was launched. Three builders were there when we pored the bulbs one HOT June day in Jacksonville FL. She spent time in Kittery Maine where she lost her mast. This is also where the green pin for #286 still is. She picked up a new aluminum stick on the way to San Diego were both Tim (Mist) and Rocky spotted her out sailing on the bay. She came back to the East coast to Charleston. She has stood up to a Hurricane and a day with 28"rain. Joe was taking a boat to the Chesapeake Bay and saw her in C-Town. For the longer history version you should talk to the owner, that may have been out racing against you.
