Gig Harbor jumping aboard

Postby Christo » Thu Aug 06, 2020 5:53 am

Greetings from Gig Harbor Washington. I am thinking of buying the boat in Portland that was finished in 2016, and never got wet. Doesn't have sails either. Has anyone here looked it over then dismissed it? Wondering about picking up sails. I have a line on a main and jib, but not the A spinnaker. Thoughts?

Know nothing about the boat, but Critical Twist, which often sailed with the PDXs, was happy with used 49er spinnakers. Search on 'spinnakers' in this forum for various strings. The first PDX boats had a bulk buy of North sails from the Portland loft and seemed to be happy with them. My sails are based on that design and I am pleased.

A comment: I regret going to a max luff-length main. I am reminded too much of sailing my OK Dinghy when I tack! This winter my main and jib will get windows for collision avoidance. ;-)
