Beaver tail bulb plug available.
BeavBulb.jpg

Same 80kg weight, just has the aft end re-worked to make it (hopefully) more durable and easier to get a finer trailing edge. Currently in Ohio, new user pays the old user for shipping (should be less than $20 in the US by Parcel Post).

The bulb is now available. I'll pay for shipping to the next builder. Lets keep this thing moving to people who want to build

That flat tailed beaver is intriguing...I am sorely tempted to recast my mold in that fashion.

nah...got enough to do yet. But nice plug!

Steady Tim. Keep your eye on the ball. Warm weather is coming. And you can always change things later. K.

How is this supposed to work? New user reimburses shipping fees to previous sender? :?

Sure, although Phil seems to be offering to pay it forward instead of back. Hope that didn't leave you in the lurch, having reimbursed me (thanks!) and sending it on to Phil!

Cost of postage was marked on box the plug was shipped in. Less then $10.00.

Not only do I have the beaver tail plug that Chad made, but I also have:
> a set of concrete molds made from the plug - the top has cracks in it but is in one piece
> About 30 lb of lead left over
> A stainless steel pot that was used to melt the lead

I'll ship the foam and wood plug to anyone in the US for free. The other stuff has to be picked up in Cleveland

Phil do you still have all the items for making the lead bulb.
Live in Toronto, would need to find out if there are any requirements from Canada Customs about bring them across the border.

As far as I know, Noel Martin has the bulb. I sent it to him after I was done with it. I don't think there would be a problem shipping it to Canada - it's just expensive relative to shipping inside of the US (I spent about $8 to ship it out).

I'm not sure about the hydrodynamics of the bulb, but I do know that the beaver tail is much stronger and probably less dangerous than having a sharp point made out of lead at the back-end of the bulb.

Hi Marino, I see you have the plug on the way, I have only just got my plans(#489). So i haven't started yet. However if you are interested in splitting any costs, labour effort and doing 2 bulbs I'd be glad to help out and get involved. Figured it might be a good opportunity to get ahead while the plug is up here. Let me know, I'm in Orangeville.

I think from the "casting the bulb" thread that "Stealth" in Singapore has it. I seem to recall that shipping cost about $40? I'm not sure he hangs out here often, but I think you can send him a PM and see what it might take to get it sent back here to the US.

Good luck with the build, post pics, and let us know if you have any questions or problems. We've all made most of the mistakes already...

Ebbe has finished with the plug, and he's ready to ship to whoever wants it next.
Mark has already cast his bulb, so there's no waiting!

Ebbe ("stealth", here) has it, in Singapore. Use this forum's PM function to send him a message.

Here's a link to one of his posts, if it helps you find his name here. I think you need 5 forum posts to be able to send someone a PM. It looks like you have 4 right now...

Good luck, post pics of your progress!

Yes, Chad is correct, Mayo, you need to have posted here on the froum a minimum of 5 times to be able to PM someone. Also, let me know if you can't make contact using the PM function, and I'll send you Stealth's email address. Good luck, hope you get the bulb!
