Chad, Thanks for the help posting the get-up I used. I only had to stop once in the 25 mile trip to replace a screw. I wouldn't use this arrangment again, unless I really had too.

By the way, I like the lever on your comp-post. Though, at first look, I thought it was opening beer and wine bottles.

I know that rig isn't the "normal" way to carry a mast, which is why I like that you got it to work.

When I delivered Brandt's mast (in three pieces) on the roof of my little Mazda, I used about a roll of duct tape and 75' of rope. Rock solid at 80mph with passing trucks and crosswinds.

I don't usually do bottles on boats, except maybe at the dock. Have always used the end of a winch handle in the past- not a likely option on this boat!

My top speed was 45 mph and I was nervous. I'm completely unfamiliar with an adjustable jack stay. I'm curious how it will work out and it looks interesting.

The lever is just a quick and easy way to tension and ease the cap (masthead) shrouds, which are sorta like diamonds on my rig with the bottom leg returning to the mast at the step. I've found that stuff that is difficult to adjust, often doesn't get adjusted. I hate busting out the wrenches to change rig tune, so this is my way of avoiding that, is all. And I can change it upwind and down, if it seems warranted...

I think I'm old school or haven't kept up with the times. I never imagined adjustable standing rigging. I need to contemplate that.

Mebbe it's only "standing rigging" if it's not adjustable The M20 that you got your mast from had a ramp-based adjustable shroud setup as I recall. Mine is just one of the other simple machines...

Yes, you're correct. The M20 rig does have the adjustment. Though, I never considered using it before I understood what you are upto. Chances are I won't start out with it. I'm trying to keep this boat simple, if that's possible. It will keep me from raising my voice at the children when things get exciting.
