Should work just fine for that. Anytime a line gets over a buck a foot for the i550 you have probably overspec'd it. The loads just aren't that high. And I'm certainly guilty of spending more than I should have in the past. I do like a larger sheet personally, 8mm (5/16") is what mine are (jib, main and spin) and my halyards are 6mm and could be smaller. But it's got to wear out before I worry about most of that stuff again.
