A little Transpac note

Postby Kevin » Tue Jul 09, 2013 3:20 pm

Our good friend Chad is off and racing in the 2013 Transpac. He is aboard "Sleeper" in division 8. They started yesterday at 1pm PDT and the whole fleet is still pretty close to each other and a just south of the rhum line. Check out yellow brick for tracking info (on a 6 hour delay) at yb.tl/transpac2013 or your favorite iDevice for the app.

The leader board is adjusted for ratings. Sleeper is currently sitting in 4th with 2139.1nm to go.

Cheers, Kevin.

Looks like Chad will finish this weekend, sometime in the next 24 hours, assuming the breeze holds. 2225 miles is a long haul.

GO THE CHAD!

Well we ended up 2nd in class behind Dorade, sailed by a full crew of pros. Definitely feel honored to be a bridesmaid to her. We lost our 2nd overall to Pywacket (legendary name in TP history) and Alchemy on Monday morning as some of the bigger, later starting boats had strong finishes.

It's often better to be lucky than good, and we drew the good start weather card for this race, and had conditions that favored our boat just a bit better than many others.
