for some reason, perhaps the exagerated perspective, it somehow seems appropriate to safety flag that proboscis. Maybe one of these?

No problems, just ready for this 3-week constant rain streak to end.

It's been a wacky ride for most of us so far this year. Lots of rain here. And perfect weather only on days when I couldn't even work on the boat. It's managed to stop raining here in Chicago. But the temps dropped into the high 40's. So no priming/painting on Sunday for me. Managed to get my HIN glued on and fashioned a lock for the hatch on Saturday. With some luck, pipeDream will be at Montrose Harbor by next weekend.

Keep going Rocky, the boat just seems bigger when your fairing. It gets smaller again when your sailing it. ;)

Looks great. I agree with Chad - get some hardware on there and go for an early sail, even if everything's not done. You'll be changing things on the boat for quite a while anyway.

What happened to the inverted yogurt cup in the end of the sprit??? Isn't that in the ammended part duex of the unwritten unspoken and not thought of rules addenda???

The boat looks great otherwise.

Cup is still there, I just went to another brand that tastes great and is less filling.
Reminds me that SOMEWHERE in the back I am going to need some cup holders....

Hey Folks, Sorry that I've been out of touch. I've experienced a pretty major hurdle with my health (tumor in my abdomen) this past spring. I've completed treatment and I'm almost recovered now. My future looks great! For you competitors, the bad news is that I've lost 40 pounds and the good news is that I've gained back 7. I'm back to work on Mist and hope to smear fairing compound on the hull bottom this weekend. Hopefully, I'll make regular progress on it for the foreseeable future. -Tim K.

Good to have you back Tim and very happy everything is going better. Enjoy getting back to work on the boat, can't say fairing was my favorite part but it felt great to be done with it. ;)

Glad for the news! And you strategically skipped "fairing in summertime", which is quite wise.

Good progress, to you and Mist.

Now sourcing marine ply. $70 per sheet but well worth the investment. Took some major sucking up to convince the wife that her car will be happier outside during the winter.. hope it lasts..Will build frames, keel, and rudder while the snow flies with a view to hull assembly etc. in the spring. Hopefully slime it late summer 2014. I'll likely throw a hobie rig on it until I find a carbon pole and accessories to purchase. Have already started the beer count though...Cheers!

I'm sanding fairing compound!
This job is certain to help me recover from the surgery I had a few months ago. I am surprised at how much I use my my stomach muscles and how they hurt while sanding the fairing compound. I'll definitely be much stronger when I do get to the priming stage. BTY, just prior to smearing fairing compound on the both sides of the hull the boat's weight was 320 pounds.
